Executive Director

The Loudoun Heritage Farm Museum, a nonprofit 501(c)3, is seeking an Executive Director.  This person will be assisting in the daily operations and management of the museum and will oversee the collections care, exhibit development, educational program development, and management and administrative duties.

Duties Assigned Include:

Collections Care

Maintains the Re:discovery collections database

Manages ingoing and outgoing loans, donations, and accessioning

Oversees the care of all collection and archival artifacts


Researches, writes, designs, and implements all museum exhibits

Oversees the care of all exhibits

Educational Programming

Researches, writes, and implements all educational programs

Markets educational programs with the Volunteer Coordinator and Events Manager

Manages instructor staff 

Special Events

Work with Volunteer Coordinator and Events Manager to plan, promote, and implement special events throughout the year 

Administrative Tasks

Develops and manages annual budgets with the Loudoun Heritage Farm Museum Board

Manages Loudoun Heritage Farm Museum staff 

Serves as the point of contact between the Loudoun Heritage Farm Museum Board and staff

Writes and manages project-based grants

Manages day to day operations of the Museum

Runs reports to analyze patterns in admissions and sales 

Manages front desk when needed

Represents the museum at various programs and events 

Other duties as assigned.

This position reports directly to the Loudoun Heritage Farm Museum Board.



4-year degree, Masters Degree preferred

Excellent organization and time management skills

Demonstrated leadership skills, creative and enterprising, detail oriented, confident collaborative, high energy, sociable, multi-tasker, ability to inspire others.

Ability to work weekends

Ability to lift 50 pounds

Interest in history and agriculture a plus
